Michael Evans aka ARCANE is a Bristol-based producer, multi-instrumentalist and breakbeat aficionado with a penchant for fusing jungle and footwork/juke grooves. Arcane appeared on the acclaimed label compilation Hybrid Hooks in 2021. His minimalist yet atmospheric approach of building journey tracks rather than radio-length songs allows dancers and listeners alike to immerse themselves in his rich soundscapes and elaborate rhythms.

Rapture is the opening track and sets the tone with filtered pads over syncopated snares and kicks that form an elastic "half-tempo" structure under which the sub-bass operates. So Nice is a two-step track with a juke twist that floats seamlessly over pounding sub kicks. Steppa has b-boy DNA all over it: cheering claps, a groove that expands and contracts along the evolving bass line while vocal shouts encourage the dancer to bring the best moves. The Mire is the epic closing track of the EP with roots in dub, dubstep and autonomous sounds and a really amazing build up.
